Retrospect to the 17th ENSAT meeting in Florence Nov 2018

The 17th ENS@T Scientific Meeting was held between 22nd and 23rd of November 2018 in Florence at the Auditorium of the University Hospital of Careggi. The Local Organizing Committee was chaired by Massimo Mannelli and the Organizing Secretary was by Fasi Congress (Rome, Italy).

There were 201 attendees, coming from all over Europe, Russia and Japan.

The two day program reflected the previous ones and included four oral sessions (one for each of the four working groups- ACC Adrenocortical Cancer, PPGL Pheochromocytoma/Paraganglioma, NAPACA Incidentalomas, APA Primary Aldosteronism), a poster session and four Working Group Sessions. None of these sessions was in parallel, permitting the delegates to attend all the program.

The only parallel event was a tutorial for the use of the ENS@T registry held by Anthony Stell during the Poster session.

The Meeting was supported by ENS@T, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze, HRA international, Medtronics, Olympus, AB Medica, Strongbridge.

The award Dinner was held on Thursday at Palazzo Borghese, one of the most important buildings of the neoclassic style, located in the center of the city.

The award certificates, acknowledged to the authors of the best scientific papers published in the last year for each of the four ENS@T topics, were accompanied by a reproduction of the ancient Florentine gold coin the Florin.

The meeting ended in the afternoon of Friday with the announcement of the four poster awards and the “see you in Uppsala in 2019” message.

Retrospect to the 15th ENSAT meeting in Birmingham Nov 2016

The 15th ENS@T scientific meeting was held at the University of Birmingham and chaired by Wiebke Arlt.
Attendees came from 22 countries to participate in the two day conference, which began on  the Friday at the Everyman Cinema, Mailbox, where there was a packed programme of oral presentations.  Delegates enjoyed networking in the evening  at the Festive Awards Dinner in the Banqueting Suite, Council House, Birmingham.
Day 2 was held at the Medical School, University of Birmingham and consisted of working groups, oral communications and guided poster sessions.  There was also  a parallel patient strand programme in collaboration with ACC Support UK. Patients attending this meeting were given the opportunity to join the conference for some of the sessions.
The meeting is entirely submission-driven and science from the whole of Europe and beyond was presented, focussing on the four different entities, non-aldosterone producing adrenocortical adenoma (NAPACA), adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), phaeochromocytoma (PHAEO) and primary aldosteronism (APA).
In addition to ENSAT, the conference was supported by the European Society of Endocrinology, HRA Pharma, Millendo Therapeutics and Alta Bioscience.
